Cherry fruit juices are very beneficial and its contents are much better when compared with isotonic drinks that many in the market.
Cherry fruit every 100 grams contains: Water (77.8 grams), protein (0.384 grams), fat (1.56 gram), carbohydrate (17.9 grams), fiber (4.6 grams), ash (1.14 grams), calcium (124.6 mg), phosphorus (84mg),
Iron (1.18 mg), carotene (0.019 g), tianin (0.065 g), ribofalin (0.037 g), niacin (0.554 g) and vitamin C (80.5 mg). The resulting energy value is 380KJ/100 grams.
Not only the fruit, cherry leaves also have long been used as traditional medicine which is used as a headache remedy and anti-inflammation by the people of Peru.

Based on research already done, cherry plants have properties as follows:

In Indonesia cherry fruit traditionally used to treat gout cherry bauh premises consuming sebayak 9 items 3 times a day it is proven to reduce pain
posed of uric acid diseases.

2.Antiseptik
The content of cherry leaf decoction berkasiat to kill harmful microbe and can be used as an anti-septic.
Based on research conducted by neighboring Malaysia, cherry leaf decoction can be used to kill bacteria C. Diptheriea, S. Aureus, P vulgaris, S and K Epidemidis Rizhophil on experiments conducted in vitro.

3. Antitumor
The content of flavonoids found in cherry leaves are also believed to inhibit the growth of cancer cells (mouse hapatoma) by laboratories that performed the scientists from Peru.

4. Antiflamasi
Cherry decoction of the leaves also have anti-inflammatory kasiat (antiflamasi) and also lower the heat, this study used mice as experimental.

Pearl Grass (Hedyotis corymbosa (L) Lamk.)

Posted by Ayuningtyas |

Grass pearls, beautiful name. And immediately pictured this certainly is a rare plant that cost a fortune. But have you ever seen on the roadside? On your home page? Or in the field? Yes, pearl grass is a type of wild grass and is very easy to be encountered in the environment around us. Of course, this plant is not that familiar in the ears of the community. And plants that are considered trivial iini has many benefits that do not play games for our health.
Chemical content in plants among others Hentriacontane pearl grass, stigmasterol, ursolic acid, oleanolic acid, beta-sitosterol, sitisterol-D-glucoside, p-coumaric acid, flavonoid glycosides, and baihuasheshecaosu (possibly analogous coumarin).
Flavonoid glycosides on the grass pearl allegedly able to inhibit the process of carcinogenesis both in vitro and in vivo. Inhibition occurs at the stage of initiation, promotion and progression through inactivation of the molecular mechanisms include carcinogen compounds, antiproliferative, angiogenesis inhibition, cell cycle arrest, induction of apoptosis, and antioxidants (Ren et al., 2003).
Most of the compounds such as Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons karsinogean (PAH) requires activation by cytochrome P450 enzymes to form reactive intermediates that before bind to DNA. Covalent bond between the DNA with a compound active carcinogens cause DNA damage. Flavonoids in this process act as blocking agents (Watternberg, 1985). Block of action of carcinogens may be through several mechanisms, among others via the cytochrome P450 isoenzymes menginhibisi activity of CYP1A1 and CYP1A2 so that the compound is not reactive carcinogens. Another mechanism through detoxification of carcinogens.
Flavonoids also increases the expression of enzymes Gluthation S-transferase (GST) that can detoxify carcinogens active so that it becomes more polar and are eliminated from the body.

Usefulness and efficacy of Pearl Grass
It was sweet, slightly bitter, soft, neutral, somewhat cold. Can be useful for heat removal, anti-inflammatory, diuretic, removes toxins, activate blood circulasi, Tonsilis, bronchitis, Mumps, Pneumonia, Appendicitis; Hepatitis, inflammation of the pelvis, urinary tract infections, boils, ulcers;
but it can also to treat Cancer: Lymphosarcoma, gastric Ca, Ca cervix, breast, rectum, fibrosarcoma, and Ca nasophar.
But it is recommended not to consume in excess, because it can cause side effects, such as the mouth and throat become dry. Intravenous injection with high doses causes a mild decrease in white blood cells, though it would return to normal after 3-5 days. Use of safe is the recommended 15-60 grams of boiled once or once consumption.

Another mechanism through the binding of the active carcinogens by the flavonoids that can prevent a bond with DNA, RNA or protein targets (Ren et al., 2003).
Antioxidant properties of flavonoid compounds may also menginhibisi process of carcinogenesis. Initiation phase of cancer is often preceded by oxidation of DNA that causes mutations (Kakizoe, 2003) by carcinogenic compounds. Active carcinogens such as oxygen radicals, peroxides and superoxide, can be stabilized by flavonoids via hydrogenation reaction or complex formation (Ren et al., 2003).
